This extended Family Photographer Session in La Jolla, which is located in San Diego, was so much fun. We began just before Sunset and finished just as the sun fell below the Horizon of the Pacific. As a year round Beach go-er, one of my favorite places to take photos and an epic location that never fails to impress, is at La Jolla Scripps Pier. There are so many looks in one location and there’s plenty of room to run around and have a great time for the kids and adults!

It’s really important to me to get those great formals you’ll always want on your wall but I love getting as much raw emotion that I can in each shot. There were about a million insanely good photos from this Beach Family Photographer Session but here are a few to show you the spirit of the day.

There is so much love here, I’m truly honored to have been a part of this family’s day!

FAMILY PHOTOS

For any Family Photographer Session, this location is great any time of the year. Sunsets are amazing and the lighting can’t be matched but even during midday, plenty of beautiful pictures can be captured! For best natural results, I would definitely suggest Sunset as the best time of day for a Portraits here at the beach and also inland in San Diego. The great thing about midday though, is that I’m able to go into Photoshop and add some spectacular colors to the sky, so even though the sun won’t be on the horizon, we still get beautiful family portraits for your walls and your family albums.

This incredible and happy family was very open and didn’t have many requirements, so we got the formals out of the way, and the rest of the time the kiddos and adults had a blast running around on the beach and splashing around. It was truly a great day together!

I hope this wonderful example of a Family Photographer Portrait Session, helps you to see all of the possibilities with natural lighting beginning one hour before Sunset. If needed, flash lighting is always an option but I don’t think anything can compare to these natural images.

With lots of love and good vibes.
